Lawrence Watkins is a 25-year old entrepreneur and owner of Great Black Speakers Bureau, an organization dedicated to helping universities and corporations find speakers for the events that they host throughout the year. Founded in January 2007, Great Black Speakers has quickly risen and has become a premier force in the speaking industry, boasting over 200 African-American speakers and over 100 university/corporate clients.

As a 2006 University of Louisville graduate, Lawrence majored in Electrical Engineering while staying heavily involved with student life on his campus. Over his college career, he ran for Student Government President, planned a 700 person regional conference for the National Society of Black Engineers, and was Chapter Vice President of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Furthermore, he was instrumental in making university policy change through his appointments to several boards by the University’s administration.
